I’ve already dated myself, with an old catch phrase. But, it’s fitting for my introduction. No matter how old you get, there will be another first. I promise, As long as you continue to look for it, it will come. This is my first blog entry.

I don’t feel very grown up at the moment. I feel like the 6 year old me that accidentally hit the kickstand and was forced to pedal downhill the first time without trainers, and the 9 year old me, who completely wigged out (on the inside), when Mrs. White gave the first multiplication test, and the 12 year old me, who got her first period, and the 17 year old me having my picture made for a real, really real, drivers license, and the me who never really understood where to put colons, semi-colons and comma’s in paragraphs. But, here I am, to share with you our commonality.

From the day you were born, you have been a joy, a worry, a conundrum and frankly at least once a royal pain in the butt, to your parents. It’s important that you keep that in mind as you pass on your genes. It’s important to remember that even though times change, kids still have to be one and three and nine and 13 just like you did. Remember that while you sit with your adult beverage or half a pound of chocolate contemplating the art of kid-ing.

What the heck is kid-ing? It’s what we do and have done and will do, all of our life. I kid you not. All of us, are people who experience the laughter, the mundane, the joys, the frustrations and the sorrows of living as our parents kids and our kids’ parents; while simultaneously attempting to navigate our grown up life.

Wanna Kid-ing-around together?
